Not normal days

Rod and Grandma Fran drove to Liverpool for the weekend and we got to celebrate Grandma's birthday. We've now had two birthday parties here, and this morning when Chaplin woke up and there was nothing major going on he said to me: "I like the not normal days, you know the Happy Birth days."

Adam was able to sneak out of work and meet us for dinner at Zeligs, an Italian restaurant.
After dinner we went back to the condo for cake...

Yes there are two cakes, because I wanted carrot cake and Chaplin wanted the one we could decorate. So we got both, and ate both.

On Sunday Rod, Fran, Adam Chaplin and I went down to Albert Dock. Rod pointed at the water and said look at the rain coming in, and no sooner had he said that than the hail started. We made up our minds quickly to head into the Maritime Museum, and that was a good decision. Though too much to see in one afternoon, we did manage to take in a lot! We'll have to go back. Before Grandma left Chaplin asked her "will you miss me?" "Yes" replied grandma.... Chaplin hugged her and said "Don't worry Grandma Rod and Keshi will be there for you." He's very thoughtful isn't he. Thank you for driving down to visit us Rod and Fran, we had a great weekend didn't we!

Here is our Monday, and i don't think it was too normal...

We went to a mom & tot drop-in today, and I meet a lady from New York that has been living here for 20 years. Here's the interesting part, she looks after three children with hearing problems, so when she spoke to the children she also signed. Now, she sounds like a Liverpoolian but talked as fast as a New Yorker. And her signing did NOT slow her down. However fast she spoke I could understand everything she said and I realized it was because she wasn't using Liverpoolian or British words or phrases. More on the topic of Liverpoolian and British word and phrases that confuse me or make me laugh - coming up soon in another blog.

After the drop-in we went over to the Planetarium level at the Museum and got tickets to the Winter Night Sky show.

The seat might have been for a heavier child ... because it kept snapping like a crocodile mouth on Chaplin.

We did see the full moon on our way home from the restaurant on Saturday.

  1. Hi Lori....what a nice black and white picture of the 5 of you. Can you clear something up for me.....is Liverpoolian the language and Liverpudlian the person so that Liverpudlians speak Liverpoolian???? A bit of a tongue twister!!!!!

  2. Yes - we had a great time. Thankyou Adam, Lori, and Chaplin for the dinner, the decorations, the cake and the gifts. The Radley wallet is now in use and the snow globe, painting and orchid all have pride of place. Glenice, I think Liverpudlians are the people and the very strong accent is referred to as being a 'scouser'. :)
